Land of Enchantment: From Pike's Peak to the Pacific

Lilian Whiting, renowned journalist and editor, takes the reader on a grand circle tour of the American West. Beginning with Colorado, Ms. Whiting expertly traces the history, culture, geography, and interesting points of that state. Wild and unsettled by white Americans, New Mexico is next, beginning with Spanish colonial history and recounting the beginnings of Santa Fe and the territory adminstered at that point by the United States. Lastly, the reader is taken on a tour of Arizona, one of the most interesting and beautiful lands in the United States; a land of enormous canyons, hidden stars, and trees made of gemstones. With a brief stop in Los Angeles, we finish gazing into the wonder of the Grand Canyon. Summary by Tatiana Chichilla
