Mystery Playhouse

(4 Sterne)

This was an Armed Forces Radio program where they took various other shows, such as Inner Sanctum or Crime Club programs, had them introduced by someone going by the name of Sgt. X, T4Y, or the actor Peter Lorre, usually with the greetings of "Hello creeps." Because it was an Armed Forces program, any ads for products were eliminated. At the end of each program, you'd be taken to "The Green Room" where they would play clips from the next program.

"Hello, Creeps!"

First class funny and chilling entertainment for our armed forces in WWII. Give a listen and time travel back there. Peter Lorre ... the more I hear and see about him the more I admire him. Our gain was the Nazis loss!l.

Just want to point out...

that Sergeant X was Howard Duff, who later played Sam Spade on radio.
